Muse vs ChatGPT dots vs Grok Bot: prices and what each does
In the space of a few weeks, three big AI companies launched the same idea. Meta has Muse, OpenAI has "dots" in ChatGPT, and xAI has Grok Bot. Each one is an AI agent: a program that does tasks for you. It keeps working after you close the app.
They sound alike, but the price, the apps they work with and the countries they reach are very different. This post puts the three side by side. You'll see which one is worth trying, and which to skip for now.
What all three do
You give the agent a goal in a normal sentence, like "keep an eye on unpaid invoices and draft reminders". It works on that in the background, on its own computer in the cloud. It comes back to you when it needs a decision.
All three can open websites and use the apps you connect. All three also ask before doing anything sensitive, like sending a message or paying for something. The differences are in the details below.
Meta Muse: free to start, best for Instagram and Facebook sellers
Muse launched on 8 September 2026. You talk to it in the Muse app, at muse.ai, or right inside WhatsApp (Meta).
- Price: free up to a usage limit. Power costs $20 a month and Maximum costs $100 a month. The paid plans give you more usage, not extra features (Meta help).
- For business: on 29 September Meta added Muse for Small Business. It can read your Instagram and Facebook Page results and help with Meta ads. It also connects to apps like Shopify, QuickBooks, Canva and Slack. Meta says nothing is posted, sent or paid for without your approval (Meta).
- Where: only in the US and Canada for now. Indonesia isn't mentioned.
ChatGPT dots: strongest, but only on expensive plans
Dots launched on 29 September 2026. Each dot runs on GPT-6 Astra, OpenAI's top AI model (the "brain" behind ChatGPT). It can connect to more than 4,000 apps. You reach it in ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams, and texting is coming later (OpenAI).
- Price: your first dot comes free with ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium, but those plans aren't cheap. Pro starts at $100 a month (OpenAI help). A Business Premium seat is $125 a month, or $100 a month if you pay yearly (OpenAI). OpenAI hasn't priced extra dots yet.
- Control: you set Custom Rules: what it may do alone, what needs your OK, and what it must never do. A password change always stays with you.
- Where: Pro users everywhere except the EU, Switzerland and the UK. Business Premium users in every country ChatGPT supports, and that includes Indonesia (OpenAI help).
Grok Bot: the cheapest way in, but still in beta
Grok Bot launched in beta on 11 August 2026 (xAI). Each Bot has its own cloud computer with a browser. It signs into websites and apps for you, even ones with no ready-made connection.
- Price: it comes with SuperGrok at $30 a month, SuperGrok Plus at $100 a month, and SuperGrok Heavy. The free Grok plan doesn't include it (xAI pricing). It also comes with paid plans of Cursor, a coding app.
- Usage: Bot work has its own allowance, separate from your normal Grok chats, and it resets every week (xAI docs).
- Where: xAI doesn't say which countries get Grok Bot. It runs on the Grok app for desktop, iPhone and Android.
Which one can you use in Indonesia today?
- Dots: yes, but only on Pro or Business Premium.
- Grok Bot: maybe. xAI hasn't published a country list, so look for it in the Grok app before you pay.
- Muse: not yet. It's US and Canada only.
Here's a quick test you can run in five minutes. Open each app on a computer, signed in with your plan, and look for the agent:
- ChatGPT: look for the option to create your dot. It can take a few days to show up after the rollout, according to OpenAI.
- Grok: look for Bot in the desktop app or at grok.com.
- Muse: try muse.ai. If it says it isn't available where you are, that answers it.
The catch
- They all make mistakes. OpenAI says so about dots, and the same goes for the others. Check anything that touches money or customers.
- They work inside your accounts. Only connect the apps the job really needs.
- Prices are new and may change. Grok Bot is still a beta, and OpenAI hasn't priced extra dots. Check the price page on the day you sign up.
What this means for you
- Already paying for ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium? Try your free dot on a low-risk job, like a weekly list of unpaid invoices.
- Want the cheapest test? Is Grok Bot in your SuperGrok account? Then $30 is a cheap way to see what an agent can do.
- Selling mostly on Instagram and Facebook? Muse fits you best, but you'll have to wait for it to reach Indonesia.
- Don't upgrade a plan just to try an agent. Pick one small task first, then decide.
Whichever you try, give it a clear first brief. Copy this and change the details:
Every Monday morning, check my invoices and list any that are more than 7 days overdue. Draft a polite reminder for each one. Don't send anything. Show me the list and the drafts first.
In our next post, we compare these three with Hermes Agent and OpenClaw, two free agents you run yourself. If you'd rather have an AI helper built around your own business and your own rules, book a free consultation.
